Okay, so here’s the thing…
A lot of you have high hopes for the
Imagine This! project, and no one on our team wants to let you down. Ever.
But frankly, sometimes things just get in the way.
Agents sometimes lie in order to make more money and sometimes, just sometimes, actors are too lazy to read an entire contract (hmmm, who could that be?).
So I have been waiting, patiently, and sometimes not so patiently, hitting my head against the wall, locked into a contract that disallowed me from producing any show on television.
This unfortunate contract held me exclusively for my services and allowed me nothing else; no acting, no hosting, no producing.
With a little luck, and perhaps divine guidance, that contract expired on Dec. 31st 2009.
Since August, when my wonderful new lawyer educated me about this blunder, I have been engaged yet distant, upset with myself, and feeling a fool, unable to bring myself to write a weekly blog. For what? To discuss how we will not get this show made…yet? How, at the height of our buzz and excitement, on the tail of an amazing LA premiere, we took a nose dive into contractual hell?
No, I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
What we DID do….. is…. continue to broaden our relationship with NGO partners.
Exciting ones!
We continued to develop episodes.
Fantastic ones!!!
We continued to court our chosen production partner. Now we will have one!!!! I am so excited to let you know that we will be taking our show to the marketplace in
March!
So please join us in resurrecting this baby and getting this idea out of cyberspace and onto television airwaves.
Dear friends, business partners, agents, lawyers, aid workers, bloggers, web designers, and all around good Samaritans who have given so much to this idea, I salute you, and give you all the gratitude in the world. This is our idea and we will make it happen.
Yours, Eion
